I don't want to use herbicides on my lawn. But that means a bumper crop of dandelions.

Is it possible to eradicate them by pulling? If so, what is the best brand of tool for getting out the taproot? And, a best time of year?

If pulling cannot do it, is there some organic solution to suppress these plants?

Thanks
Jim

I suggest hand-pulling after the rains of Autumn / Spring have softened the soil

I sincerely believe that turf is wasteful in many ways. The dandelion is the most useful part of your lawn, & you're trying to eradicate it. There's something wrong with that picture

I suggest having a look at the path to freedom website, http://www.pathtofreedom.com/about/urbanhomestead.shtml and seeing if you can't find inspiration from what they've done.
